Stop Motion

we did a stop motion video and it was hard and time consuming but we had fun on set :)

this is out short video entitled Super Mario.

ENJOY!

FINAL ALBUM

So for the end of this semester Sir Rey asked us to provide a photo album to compile our works
I had no money so I improvised and put the printouts on an illustration board to save money hehe

The panorama

A panorama is a series and combination of pictures and as for this post i'll be showing my most decent looking panorama. I shot it at UPLB Botanic Garden.

I stitched the photos using Adobe Photoshop CC

Le Photoshoot

So foe this day our class had a shoot and we had two models one male and one female. Justin Aninias and Acine Samiano.

we were grouped and each group has 5 mins each to shoot the models it was quite hard because there's not much time and there are some squatters in the way too.

When my group were shooting Acine the lights malfunctioned and it started to emit smoke we had to shoot her with one light but I just adjusted the camera settings to get a good shot.

I failed to get a trigger that's why I used the camera flash to get good shots too.

Here are some of my works.

1 minute video

Each of us created a 1 minute self-introduction video. This is my video

ENJOY! :D

Oh and we were also taught to do glamour shot  Sir Rey improvised and used 4 lights to create the glamour effect, it was amazing but i'm afraid I don't have the photos because I used my classmate's memory card.

(under-exposed)

Basic Videography

I was waiting for this topic because I'm actually really interested in videography and video editing. Mr. Rey also taught us some technical stuff that could be easily understood:

HD (720p)- High Definition

Full HD (1080p)- Full High Definition it is the best video HD quality

24 fps (frames per second)- if you desire to have a cinematic effect this is the frame rate that you should use.

60 fps or more- is the best frame rate if you want to do slow-motion effects.

SD card- Secure Digital card

CF card- Compact Flash card

SDHC- Secure Digital High Capacity

Video is just a series of photos put together.

Le Favorite: Food Photography

FINALLY WE DID FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY BABY!!! WHOOO!!

This is by far my favorite topic in photography class, EVER! I love food and I love looking at foods. Our group

We used mashed potatoes so that it would look like ice cream, then we added some nuts and chocolate syrup so that it would look more convincing.

Photography: White Balance

We talked about white balance, it is used to get the colors in the image as accurate as possible.
I don't own any DSLR so I just borrow one from the Editing Lab I used the Canon 600D

I'm not really good at setting up the white balance but I think I could improve haha :D

Alphabet Photography

Mr. Rey asked us to accomplish a complete set of Alphabet Photography. This project challenged my creatity, to see the world in a different way. So for this project this is what I have accomplished.

These photos were taken at home and at school.

Light Painting

I must say, light painting is so awesome.

in order to paint with light you have to have a very slow shutter speed, depending on your desired shape.
These photos are some of the light painting experiments that i have done, i used my classmates as the models.
so in this photo i used the camera flash to keep the subject still.

2nd Meeting in Photography Class

For today's blog, I don't have much to say about the technical stuff but I'll just tell my whole experience experimenting with aperture and shutter speed.

Sad to say I can't show the photos that I have taken last week because I only used the school's camera and I have failed to retrieve my photos.

So... Mr. Rey Mendoza sent us outside to see the world and experiment with our photo our first exercise was to experiment with shutter speed. I asked one of my classmate to be the subject of my photo, Sir Rey, I don't know if you remember but I passed the one with the girl spitting water from her mouth, and Sr. Rey said that I did a good job hehe :)

For our next activity he asked us to compare the difference between our photos by using different aperture. I started with f 3.5, then f 8, then f 16 I didn't use the other apertures because it was too dark.

Then while we were not doing anything my classmates and I tried "to draw using light" it was so cool and amazing.

First Day in Visual Communication

So it's been like 309482 years since I last wrote in this blog haha..

I am currently in 3rd year college taking up AB Communication Arts. And for this semester I have Visual Communication as one of my class subjects and it is facilitated by Mr. Rey Mendoza. For our first meeting he gave us a brief introduction on the proper use and the basic functions of a DSLR camera. That is actually a good thing because I'm interested in photography but I'm more interested in videography. Though I don't have the camera and the proper equipment, yet, as long as I'm interested in something I'll make a way to enhance my knowledge.

Photography
PHOTO= Drawing    GRAPHY= Light
"Drawing with Lights"

For our first meeting Mr. Rey Mendoza discussed to us about the Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO.

SHUTTER SPEED- shutter speed or exposure time is the length of time a camera's shutter is open when taking a photograph. It controls light in different ways.

APERTURE- it is the hole in your lens. The lower the aperture the brighter, and the bigger the hole the faster.

ISO- it stands for International Standard Organization. If the ISO is higher the appearance of the image will be brighter.

He also taught us the different Image file types:

JPEG- (Joint Photographic Experts Group) it can support up to 16 million colors.

GIF- (Graphic Interchange Format) it can only support 256 colors

PNG- (Portable Network Graphics) it supports transparency.

And let's not forget the 3 types of lenses:

Wide- 10mm

Normal- 50mm

Telephoto- 200mm

Creepy T.V. Commercials

Hey Dawg! So I know that all of us are fond of watching television. And I know that all of us love watching whatever shows are on, but let's not deny the fact that we sometimes enjoy the awesomeness of T.V. commercials. T.V. commercials are usually bubbly, memorable, and most of the time it'll leave a smile on our faces.

But believe it or not there are some commercials out there that are just plain creepy and weird. So for today's blog I'll be showing you the top 3 creepiest/ weirdest T.V. commercials (that I've ever watched).

I'll do the counting backwards, to spice things up.

3.  The McDonald's 1st T.V. Commercial
Yeah yeah, i know what y'all are probably thinking. Most McDonald commercials are awesome and it's very family oriented. But the first McDonald's commercial would probably ruin your childhood. I'll let you be the judge of that...

2. Meth Project Official Ad
Oh Meth, not even once! This ad is really disturbing, not scary but disturbing. No words could explain how disturbed I was after watching this commercial...

1. Little Baby's Ice Cream "Special Time"
Okay, so this commercial really scared me. I couldn't even look at it for more than 7 seconds. It's really creepy, disturbing, and scary at the same time. The super long eye contact sends shivers down my spine if you wanna know what i'm talking about just watch the commercial...

Oh and one last thing, this last video is amazing it will get your mind off of all the disturbances that you just saw from this blog post. Enjoy!!!

The Incubus

Have you ever felt something weird or heavy in front of you while sleeping, as if something is on top of you or trying to choke you slowly... Or have you ever woke up in the middle of the night unable to move your body? It's either you were on sleep paralysis or an Incubus is on top of you. If ever an Incubus is on top of you, you're in for a treat. HAHA!

I don't know if you guys are familiar with an Incubus. I'm talking about the demon not the band.

An incubus is a demon in male form who, according to a number of mythological and legendary traditions, lies upon sleepers, especially women, in order to have sexual intercourse with them. An incubus may pursue sexual relations with a woman in order to father a child, as in the legend of Merlin. Religious tradition holds that repeated intercourse with an incubus or succubus may result in the deterioration of health, or even death.

There are also creatures called the Succubus, it is the female counterpart of the Incubus.

The exact origin of the myth is unknown, though St. Augustine mentioned sexual creatures in some of his works. The first actual mention of Succubus comes from the 1300's. There are a few basic variations on the myth. In some accounts, the incubus and succubus are two separate demons. The incubus impregnates women with its demon seed while the succubus impregnates itself using a human male. In others, the incubus and succubus are the same shape-shifting demon which needs to collect semen as a succubus first before it transforms into an incubus to impregnate a woman. Less often, these demons use sexual intercourse as a means to directly possess the body of their victims. This is generally done while the victim is sleeping.

Top 3 Most Gruesome Execution Methods

Yo wazzup! So this blog entry is all about the most gruesome torture or execution methods known to man. The moment humanity emerged from the face of the planet, torture and cruelty will always be apart of it. Imagine being prick by a needle, it kind of hurts, right? How much more if you we're skinned alive then a pound of salt will be poured all over your freshly cut wounds, yiikes. I couldn't even imagine the excruciating pain and suffering. So here's a list of the top 3 most gruesome torture/ execution methods EVER!

1. Hanged, Drawn, and Quartered
Used mainly in England, it is widely considered to be one of the most brutal forms of execution ever devised. As the name implies it came in three parts. In the first the victim was tied to a wooden frame and dragged to the location of their execution (drawn). They were then hung until nearly dead (hanged). Immediately after being taken down their abdomen was opened and their entrails were removed. As the victim watched they were then burned before his or her eyes. He was then also emasculated and eventually beheaded. After all of this his body was divided into four parts (quartered) and placed in various locations around England as a public crime deterrent. This punishment was only used on men for any convicted woman would generally be burnt at the stake as a matter of decency.

2. Brazen Bull

Not only inhumane, the bull was deliberately created for the enjoyment of the executioner and onlookers. First proposed to the tyrant of Akgragas in Sicily by the metal worker Pirillos, the bull was designed to be big enough for one person to fit inside. After a fire was lit below, the person would slowly burn to death. The head of the bull, however, was designed to acoustically convert their screams into “bull sounds” and the smoke from their burning body would be expelled through its nose.

3. Premature Burial
Somewhat self-explanatory, this technique has been used by governments throughout history to execute condemned prisoners. One of the latest documented cases was during the Nanking Massacre in 1937 when Japanese troops buried Chinese civilians alive.

So, which do you prefer among the three methods? There are other forms of gruesome torture out there, i just can't imagine a human doing this to another human. But what's done is done we can't do anything about it, we can't change the cruel side of the history.

New form of torture:

“Not returning phone calls is the severest form of torture

in the civilized world.”

Urban Legend: Bloody Mary

Q: What do you usually think of when you're in a room in front of the mirror in the middle of the night?
A: Nobody in their right mind would look at the mirror in the middle of the night!

So, for this blog entry it's all about the Legend of Bloody Mary. I'm pretty sure that most of us are very familiar with this urban legend.

Bloody Mary is said to appear in a mirror if you chant her name multiple times. There is actually a ritual that is to be done if you want to summon her. You have to be in a dark room and then you have to face a mirror and then chant her name multiple times. Afterwards you will see a vague image of a lady slowly appearing right before your eyes while looking at the mirror.

There have been different versions of this urban legend that is circulating the web here are some of the versions:

1. "When I was about 9 years old, I went to a friend's for a birthday/slumber party. There were about 10 other girls there. About midnight, we decided to play Mary Worth. Some of us had never heard of this so one of the girls told the story.
Mary Worth lived a long time ago. She was a very beautiful young girl. One day she had a terrible accident that left her face so disfigured that nobody would look at her. She had not been allowed to see her own reflection after this accident for fear that she would lose her mind. Before this, she had spent long hours admiring her beauty in her bedroom mirror.
One night, after everyone had gone to bed, unable to fight the curiosity any longer, she crept into a room that had a mirror. As soon as she saw her face, she broke down into terrible screams and sobs. It was at this moment that she was so heartbroken and wanted her old reflection back, that she walked into the mirror to find it, vowing to disfigure anybody that came looking for her in the mirror.
After hearing this story, which was told very scarily, we decided to turn out all of the lights and try it. We all huddled around the mirror and starting repeating "Mary Worth, Mary Worth, I believe in Mary Worth."
About the seventh time we said it one of the girls that was in front of the mirror started screaming and trying to push her way back away from the mirror. She was screaming so loud that my friends mom came running into the room. She quickly turned on the lights and found this girl huddled in the corner screaming. She turned her around to see what the problem and saw these long fingernail scratches running down her right cheek. I will never forget her face as long as I live!!"  -As told on the internet, Feb. 16, 1994

2. Some girls Kat didn't know invited her over for a sleepover. That night they played Truth or Dare. When it was Kat's turn she picked dare. One of the girls said, "I dare you to do Bloody Mary." Kat accepted. They gave Kat a lit candle and pushed her into the bathroom. Kat spun around three times and said, "Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary."
When nothing happened, she walked to the door. Before she could reach it, her only light blew out. She banged on the door, begging the girls to open it, but they just laughed. She backed up against the door. The sink and the bath started to run. It poured out thick blood. It soon was overflowing onto the floor. Kat screamed a blood-curdling scream as Bloody Mary rose from the water then crawled out. When she reached Kat she slit her throat and dragged her back to the bath. The next morning, the girls cheeked on her. When they saw her, their screams could be heard for miles.

Top 3 Most Haunted Places in the World

Sometimes whenever we look at an empty and abandoned place, we automatically feel Goosebumps all over our body. How much more if we take a look at the top three most haunted places in the world. From an insane asylum to a suicide forest, it couldn’t get any creepier than that. So let’s start the countdown…

1.       The Beechworth Lunatic Asylum, Australia

In my opinion abandoned insane asylums are the creepiest places ever. The Beechworth Lunatic Asylum was originally called Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum, it is located in Victoria, Australia. It served as a mental institution form 1867 until 1995. It was recorded that about 9,000 patients died in its 130 years in service. There are rumored ghost sightings and hauntings in that very place this very day.

2.    Aokigahara, Japan

Aokigahara can be found at the base of Mt. Fuji, and it is infamously known as the “Suicide Forest”. Numerous numbers of people have trekked into the forest to take their own lives in the middle of its dense trees and vines, the local police do annual sweeps to clear away the dead bodies. Signs could be found around the forest placed by the local police: “Your life is a precious gift to your parents” and “Please consult with the police before you decide to die.”

Many people claimed that the forest is haunted by the souls of those who have died there. According to one legend during the times of famine in ancient Japan, if the families couldn’t feed themselves, some would be abandoned in the forest where they died of starvation. Those ghosts are believed to haunt the forest today.

So, to make the story short, it is a very terrifyingly scary place.

3. The Manila Film Center, Philippines

So, this one doesn’t seem to look like the typical haunted place, but the story behind this place is depressing and terrifying. The Manila Film Center is reportedly haunted by the ghost of the workers who were killed during the construction accident. The accident buried workers in quick-drying cement, killing 26 construction workers and injuring 36 others but rumor has is that 168 died. Some believed that there are other bodies who were entombed in the structure and that the souls still haunts the Film Center.

There are thousands of haunted places all over the world and there are also countless stories on how it became haunted but in writing this blog entry I have only chosen those stories that are told the most and that may all the lost souls rest in peace.

Haunted Objects

"I'm not afraid of werewolves or vampires or haunted hotels, I'm afraid of what real human beings to do other real human beings." -Walter Jon Williams

Have you ever stared at an object and felt something weird? I know I have, like staring at a gravestone creeps me out. There are some things in this world that looks ordinary, but there's something more that meets the eye. Whenever we hear the word "haunted", we automatically think of houses, buildings, forest, ans other old abandoned places, but the truth is that the demons and spirits could also possess ordinary objects. So this week's blog entry is about the top 3 most haunted objects.

1. Annabelle - Haunted Doll

Most of us are familiar with this doll, it was made famous by the movie The Conjuring. Annabelle's story is one of the creepiest cases of possessed object on record. The doll is currently locked up inside a glass case on an occult museum. Annabelle was purchased in the late 1970s as a present for her daughter's birthday. Donna was the recipient  of the doll, she was a nursing student in college who lives with her roommate in a small apartment. After a few days Donna and her friend notices that there was something wrong about the doll. They have noticed that the doll in a completely different room from where they originally placed it. They have also witnessed the doll standing up with its arms folded. They have also seen some strange messages scribbled on paper. Donna even saw some blood drops on the hands and chest of the doll and it scared her so much that she sought help from a psychic.

They found out that a young girl named Annabelle Higgins had died in their apartment and that her spirit inhabits the doll. A few days later the doll attacked Donna's friend Lou. After the horrifying incident she contacted renowned paranormal Ed and Lorraine Warren. They found out it was actually possessed by a demon who lied about its identity. Today, Annabelle remains locked in a glass case at the Warren Occuld Museum.

2. The Haunted Painting

This painting is known by the nickname "eBay Haunted Painting" created by artist Bill Stoneham in 1972. It is believed to be one of the world's most haunted works of art. The painting was first purchased by actor John Marley then it was then acquired by a Californian couple. The couple claimed that the figures on the painting moved around at night. The curse of the painting doesn't only affect its owners but people who viewed the painting online also reported feeling sick and fainting. The couple got rid of the painting when they auctioned it on eBay. It was purchased by an art galerry in Grand Rapids, MI for $1,025.00. I didn't feel sick or anything but I don't feel comfortable looking at the picture of the painting.

3. The Anguished Man - Another haunted painting

The name of the painting itself makes me uncomfortable. This scary-looking painting was inherited by Sean Robinson from his grandmother. His grandma had always told him that the painting was evil, and that the artist who created it used his own blood mixed with the paint, and killed himself shortly after the painting was complete.

When Robinson took the painting into his home, he and his family experienced hearing voices and crying, and seeing shadowy figure of a man.So, he decided to set up a camera to try to capture the strange events on tape. He put the painting down in his basement, but he has no plans in selling it.

There are a lot of things in this world that are probably haunted maybe your cellphone is secretly possessed by a demon, or maybe your favorite stuffed toys secretly moves at night. Some paranormal phenomenon occurs not because the place is haunted maybe it's just because a certain spirit became emotionally attached on some objects.

Highway to HELL!

So I always hear this phrase “Oh HELL no!” but do you even know what “hell” is? Growing up, I have always wondered whether hell exists or is it just a product of one’s imagination. I’ve read some scriptures and articles that are claiming the existence of hell. And that it contains the unfortunate soul of the dead who are suffering eternally.

I have heard and read different stories from different people about the existence of hell that are circulating the internet. But the story that interests me the most is the story of Angelica Zambrano an Ecuadorian girl. She claims that she was dead for 23 hours, during her 23 hour-death there she met Jesus Christ and that he showed her hell and heaven so that when she comes back to life, she could warn people about the realities of the next life. She said that when Jesus showed him the hell she saw some famous faces. She saw Selena Quintanilla Perez (she sang “Dreaming of You”) and that Selena even told her to tell the people on earth not to listen or sing her songs or else she might get punish. She also saw Pope John Paul II in hell, and same thing goes for Michael Jackson.
Angelika Zambrano
I bet you have heard of this story before, about the Siberian Drilling. A geological group drilled a hole about 14.4 km deep, and the scientists claimed that they have heard human screams. They even recorded it. Some people claims that it’s a hoax, but here’s the recorded audio:

I am not saying hell does or doesn’t exist, it still depends on ones’ faith and beliefs.

Real Stories Behind Fairytales

We all grew up hearing stories about princes and princesses, fairies, goblins, werewolves, witches, and a whole lot more. I’m pretty sure that we are all familiar with the famous line “and they live happily ever after…” Hearing that line makes us want to live and experience the things that are happening in fairy tales. Meet a prince or princess that will sweep you off your feet, live in a grand castle with talking animals or furniture like the ones in Beauty and the Beast and Snow White.

But not all of us are aware on what are the real versions of these fairy tales. After reading this blog entry you might feel a bit nostalgic and at the same time flabbergasted.

WARNING:
This blog entry might ruin your childhood HAHA!

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

So we all know what happens, Snow White was threatened by the queen because she’s a lot prettier than her. A huntsman tried to kill her and then give her heart to the queen but she manages to escape, met some dwarfs who live in the forest. The queen disguised herself as an old woman, gave Snow White an apple, then she feel in an eternal sleep and only true loves first kiss could break the spell. During her supposedly funeral the prince came, and then kissed her, she woke up and they live happily ever after.

In the original version of Snow White instead of her heart the queen actually asks for Snow White’s liver and lungs—which are to be served for dinner that night. And the tale ends with the queen being forced to dance in red hot iron shoes until she dies.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

There’s this girl named Goldilocks who finds a random house, sneaks inside, eats their food, used their chair, then sleeps in the little bear’s bed. When the bears returned home they find her asleep, she woke up then escapes through the window in terror.
The original tale was that when the bears find Goldilocks sleeping in the bed they ripped her apart and then they ate her. (That was just too brutal, don’t you think?)

Sleeping Beauty

So, here’s the Disney version of the tale: A lovely princess was put sleep when she pricks her finger on a needle. She sleeps for 100 years when a prince arrives, kisses her, and then she awoken. They fell in love instantly, marry, and (wait for it…) they live happily ever after.
In the original tale, the young woman is put to sleep because of a prophesy. And it wasn’t the kiss of the prince that woke her up instead, the king saw her asleep and then he felt the urge to rape her. Nine months passed, she gave birth to 2 children (still asleep).  One of the children sucked her finger which removes the flax that was keeping her asleep. She wakes up to find herself raped and a mother of 2 kids. This is worse than having a terrible hangover.

Almost all of the fairytales that we know have their own original stories behind them most of them, a not so happy ending. Through the years there are different versions that are coming up, maybe the reason why they alter it is so that they can make a hit movie out of it, but I’m not really sure that’s just my theory.

The White Lady

Growing up, I have heard a lot of stories about multo or ghosts. Honestly speaking, most of the stories scared the living crap out of me. The most common story that the grown-ups usually tell me, is the legend of the White Lady.

Sometimes I come to think that I have already seen such entity, but most of the times I just choose to ignore it and it’s just a product of my imagination. But I still want to experience an encounter with the white lady. I bet that would be a heart-pounding situation. Anyways, let’s go back to the topic. HAHA

A white lady is a female ghost in rural areas with a local tale of tragedy. The tale of the white lady can be heard from different parts of the world, and it can also be heard in different parts of the Philippines. Some of them haunt old abandoned houses, buildings, bridges, rivers, and many more. But the most popular haunting ground of the white lady is the Balete Tree or the Balete Drive; it is located between Aurora Boulevard and a few blocks from Gilmore Avenue.
abandoned mansion
Balete Drive
It is believed that the apparition is one of the reasons for some road accidents in the Balete Drive. Some believe that the reason why she randomly appears to driving vehicles is because she’s out to get revenge, but some says that she’s just asking for some help. But there are a lot of variations to the story, through the years people kept on altering the story, adding details to it to make it even scarier. No one really knows the real version of the story or if there was ever a real story behind it.

So if this made you curious whether this is a hoax or not try finding it out and tell me how it went. J
